Washington, D.C. – Earlier this week, the National Association of Wheat Growers (NAWG) presented Rep. Kristi Noem with the Wheat Advocate Award. This award is given annually to members of Congress who have demonstrated outstanding support for the wheat industry.
“I’m truly humbled to receive this award and I continue to be proud of the wheat industry we have in South Dakota,” said Rep. Noem. “As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, I will continue to strongly advocate for policies that offer needed certainty to our agriculture producers, including a full five-year farm bill.”
“Congresswoman Noem has been a huge asset to South Dakota and the wheat industry during her short time in Congress,” said Bing Von Bergen, President of the National Association of Wheat Growers. “She showed leadership and pushed hard to complete a farm bill last year and our growers are confident that the Congresswoman will continue to fight for the wheat industry and push to pass a comprehensive five-year farm bill this year.”
