IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Rep. Noem Discusses the Small Business Tax Cut Act on House Floor
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Kristi Noem today gave remarks on the House Floor in support of the Small Business Tax Cut Act, which would benefit small businesses in South Dakota and across the nation:
In the state of South Dakota “I’ve got over … 20,000 different businesses that are going to benefit from this piece of legislation. And that’s why I’m supporting it.”
Partial Transcript:
“It never ceases to amaze me, the misleading claims that will come from my colleagues on the other side of the aisle at times. One of them … [is] that only the rich and famous would benefit from this piece of legislation. …. I’ve been trying to think of even a handful of famous people in South Dakota that are going to benefit from this, I can’t come up with it. But I’ve got over [200,000] jobs in the state of South Dakota and 20,000 different businesses that are going to benefit from this piece of legislation. And that’s why I’m supporting it.
….
“Small businesses … employ almost half of all the private sector employees in this country. This bill is going to free up the cash so that those small businesses can keep people employed when they’ve hit tough times and maybe reinvest in their businesses.
“It’s a key to what we need to do and I hope we can all come together and support this good legislation before us.”
