Washington, D.C. – Rep. Kristi Noem has received an award for her leadership in supporting domestic energy production and pursuing energy independence through the production and use of ethanol. Late yesterday, Rep. Noem was presented the “Fueling Growth” Award from Growth Energy. This is the second year Rep. Noem has received this award.
“Ethanol has helped lower costs at the pump, benefited South Dakota’s economy and is an increasing force in our pursuit of energy independence,” said Rep. Noem. “I am honored to receive this award and will continue to be a supporter of ethanol, which is a key player in an all-of-the-above energy approach.”
“Representative Noem has been a steadfast supporter of renewable fuel. She clearly understands the role biofuels play in creating South Dakota jobs, improving South Dakota's farm incomes and rural economies and lowering the amount of oil our country imports,” said Jeff Lautt, CEO of POET. “We are happy to have been able to recognize her contributions through this award.”
