Congresswoman Kristi Noem met with local, state and federal officials today to talk flooding.

She heard from the national weather service, army corps of engineers and leaders from Sioux Falls and Minnehaha County.

Noem has already toured many parts of the state including brown and Hamlin counties.

“Their personal stories, their pictures, you know I am there and able to see it with my eyes but I think that draws a message and gives me another tool I can use when I'm communicating to the administration, when I'm communicating in Washington DC to congressional members, that this is how it's impacting real people's lives,” said Representative Kristi Noem.

National weather service officials told Noem the cold weather may slow things down now, but will ultimately prolong the flooding.
