U.S. Rep. Kristi Noem made a stop in Sioux Falls Monday to talk about the accomplishments that have been made in Congress recently.
She visited the Sioux Falls Downtown Rotary in the afternoon to talk about the passage of the farm bill and what we can do to prevent sex trafficking throughout the nation, and in South Dakota. Noem also spoke about recent trips to Japan and China and the importance of agricultural trade to those countries.
Although she hasn't done a lot of campaigning, Noem says as someone who is running for re-election, speaking at meetings such as this one gives her the opportunity to know what South Dakotans care about.
Noem said, "This was a great chance for me to give a lot of folks in Sioux Falls an update on what we've been doing in Washington, D.C. Some of the wins that we've had in South Dakota on policy issues but also take some of their questions. There's things they're hearing about on the news everyday, whether it's the VA, IRS, or Health Care or whatever it is. Let them ask me questions and I can speak to that candidly as well."
Noem also hosted a town hall at the Holiday Inn Monday evening, where she took questions from area residents.
Noem's Democratic opponent Corinna Robinson is expected to speak to the Rotary in the near future.
